Broken router clamp during setup

Just a quick note to new owners - When I was installing an upright to the router clamp one of the screws broke through the router clamp requiring me to order a new one.

I believe this may have happened because I should have walked the screws around while installing. Instead I think had the upright crooked and the screw tried to pull the upright into the clamp breaking the hole whose job it was to hold the screw head.

When building make sure the uprights are seated into the clamp properly and drive the screws in thirds in sequence until they are tight to avoid what happened to me.

It sounds like we’re too late, but we would have been happy to send you a free one!

That’s very kind of you. But I figured since I was the one who caused it, I can’t expect you to replace it.

Looks like it shipped today, so I’ll be CNCing soon. It’s been a high learning curve, but fun.

If able, you may want to look at the possibility of making that area thicker for future clamps.
