Calibration Issues Maslow 4: Calibration Fitness Too Low

Not sure why I’m getting this. Its attached to the garage floor in a 12’ x 8’ frame size as suggested with concrete anchors.

Reran again making the calibraiton area slightly smaller than the default. Slightly improved but still get the same message. This calibration experience is incredibly time consuming to only get the same warning over and over.

I didn’t save that. Am I able to pull that data without rerunning the calibration?

Re-runnning calibration again. During the calibration is seems to run fine with tight belts at each point and minimal slack between points. The anchor points are rock solid attached to the concrete so those cant be flexing. Moves cleanly over the temporary boards as well. The machine always slightly twists to one side (still always flat against the ground but rotated about the z axis) so the arms are close or touching sometimes to the support columns. Also reflashed the firmware again to the latest.

Further troubleshooting. Read that others were seeing magnets slip and we could test for this by retracting, then extending, then retracting. I get basically 0 offsets on this final retracting so I don’t believe this is an issue for me. Completed this twice for redundancy with the same-ish results.

Very much at a loss of what to do now.

Further troubleshooting in decreasing the calibration grid size and number of points to 200 x 200 and 3 x 3 points. Obtained a successful calibration. The distances still seem off as the frame 12’ x 8’ or 3657.6 x 2438.

It seems like there is a bug in the math for the calibration system. I thought that I had it fixed last week, but it seems that maybe I didn’t actually fix it.

What do you see if you move around with the jog arrow buttons? Does the tension in all four belts seem good an consistent?

1 or 2 are a bit loose but not touching the ground. The others seem tight.

There was a bug before where if you tried to run a file right away without jogging around a little first it was throwing that error.

I thought that I had that fixed in the latest version, but maybe not.

If you move the machine around a bit with the arrow buttons and then press play to do you get the same error?

When you get the error does it seem like the belts are too tight?

I drove it around first prior to running.

I believe that the belts looked a bit loose prior to the error. I know the calibrated size is about 200mm off from what I can measure with a tape measure so I dont think thats helping it.

please try extending/retracting again, this bottom left number being off by a
couple inches from what was expected seems likely to be a problem.

Yeah it stopped about 2 inches short. Retracting it again got it to seat fully.

Should I just use my measured size or what as the calibration with more than 9 points isn’t working for me.

Unfortunately measuring by hand is very very difficult because the measurements need to be quite precise and the shape is probably not actually a rectangle
