The newest beta version of ChromeOS allows the installation of Linux apps. Google it and there are some links that will walk you through the set up if you’re interested.
I have the Gnome software centre installed and LibreCAD (which can export in MakerCAM SVG) at the moment.
I haven’t tried Ground Control or anything yet, so I can’t comment on that. That being said, I know there are a few Chromebook users on here who may have a spare machine to go down that rabbit hole.
