Complete tutorial in my eyes

So I am guy who needs to visual something to understand it. Trying to wrap my head around the process of design all the way through making the cut I came across something. This is a bit older but completely relevant still. Watching this video by Jay Bates made everything click for me.

@bar the question I have is say you wanted to change bits. Say I want to go from a straight cut bit to say a V Grove bit, how would you go about it and have Maslow pick up where you left off??

That is an excellent question. The long answer is how would YOU want it to work. We can make it work any way that we want.

The way that I would do it right now would be to export one gcode file for the straight bit and then a separate one for the v grove bit. As long as you don’t press the ā€œDefine Homeā€ button they will be in the same place.

That is a great idea…a different g code cut pass for each bit… brilliant!

I would definitely go the ā€˜separate gcode file’ route for any CNC machine that doesn’t have an automatic tool changer.
