How long are are the bungee cables?

Hi all, I’m excited to get my Maslow up and running with the Default frame but I’ve run into an issue.

The instructions don’t say anything about how tight the bungee cord is supposed to be.
Out of the box it’s far too long (shown in my picuture). I cut one about 32" long and it snapped before reaching the end of it’s range of motion.

Before I break anymore cords…
About how long should the bungee cord be?

replace them with weights, they work much better

Weights for chain tension

I was having problems with the elastic cord not keeping enough tension on the slack and the chains twisting as a result, I made a quick trip to home depot and got the cloathsline pullys and a couple conduit sweeps, here is the result (works much better, but I need to relocate the end of the chain to handle the full work area) I didn’t bother relocating the metal pulleys from the old arrangement. the screw in the center is to hold the sled out of the way. the paracord seems to have no trouble w…
