@bar: As a US-located subscriber to the Maslow 4.1 kickstarter, I’d like to know whether (and how) the current tariff chaos will affect prices. I realize that you can’t predict US policy, but maybe you can make some general statements…

Not Bar, but here is what we know now.
We do know that all the current shipments got through before the tariffs hit, so
this is not going to be an issue for a bit (hopefully things settle down by
then)
There is not a lot of margin, so when he does get impacted by the tariffs, he
will have to pass them along in the cost.
With 4.1 he had each kit shipped directly from China to the purchaser. At that
point the question of de-minimus comes into play (under the old rules, the US
didn’t bother with tariffs for shipments <$800). currently de-minimus has been
eliminated. I personally expect it to come back (doing the paperwork and billing
for the tariff for every $5 shipment isn’t going to be effective, or fast). But
at this point we don’t know what will happen.

Thanks for taking a shot at an answer! AIUI, short term isn’t a problem, but in the longer term tariff (etc) issues might well arise. So, it might make sense for Maslow CNC to look for US-based sources of some components. On some related topics:
One of my favorite woodworking channels (https://www.youtube.com/@RexKrueger) recently did a video (I nearly GAVE UP on this invention) showing off their new stack of high-res 3D printers. Maybe Rex would like to offer a bid…
I recently followed the link from The Not Shop to CraftCloud. Unfortunately, in order to even find out the price for a 3D printed product, I’d have to download and re-upload the file, then ask for a quote. This is Not [sic] convenient.
What about setting up a spreadsheet (or whatever) that would show info on sources for Maslow-related 3D printed products? This could help to build up the Maslow ecosystem (and make life a bit more convenient for folks who don’t want to do their own printing)…
Let’s see. It might not eventually end up as bad as it seems to be right now. Sane heads will eventually prevail.
