Can we have someone try this out on a vertical frame, I am confident it’s operational on a horizontal frame.
@dlang I want to do a firmware release, but what does that process look like now that there aren’t separate index.html.gz and firmware.bin files anymore?
Edit: I’m guessing that this release needs to have separate files and then future releases will only have the one?
OK it looks like I was wrong and the file structure is the same, but we now have an “update automatically” button which is great! But it doesn’t seem to work. It always fails for me with “Update failed: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.” when I know I have a good network connection.
Is that tested and working for anyone else?

I have worked out what is happening. If you go into preferences, (top right under 4 lines) you can now set what version of updates you want to load. After that the automatic update works if Release (stable) is selected. At least it gives you the option to load latest stable version.
This is not intuitive or an automatic upgrade and may generate a lot of queries initially.

Interesting! I had a different theory which was that it was an issue with how the browser was trying to reach github and I just pushed a fix for that. Is there any chance that it started working for you after I pushed that fix?
If it can work the old way I’d rather go back to that because it was a bit cleaner.
I also released version 1.22 
and in the process cleaned up the release process so it’s easier to do which should help with future releases.
Looks like your update was 45 minutes ago, when I tested it was an hour ago (June 24 9.21am local time), current time here is June 24, 10:48, so I think I might have just beaten your change.
Your change was at 9:55 my time.
Note: I didn’t actually load it, just got to the point where I could.

I’m not understanding the question (and may have missed something), is the
index.html.gz now baked in to the firmware.bin and no longer able/required to be
updated separately?
are you talking about the new update button?

Trying 1.22 So far ok. Couple of things. When it started up and I tried to apply tension before finding anchors only one belt tightened and a dialogue box appeared saying that tension on one belt was odd and to continue? I said yes and it went on but at the end it had tightened itself to a position about 1.5 feet lower than center. I am now running find anchors and it seems ok. It assumes a 4 by 8 spoilboard area to freely move around on. I wonder if we should have a setting or a popup asking about the size of the spoilboard before finding anchors? I see the set work area now but maybe I missed it when first starting up? I think it will be confusing to new users. Here is a picture of what the screen showing what it thinks it is doing. It did seem to recognize that it was not centered and is moving around a centered 4 by 8 area. Little bit of shuddering near the bottom left corner. not seeing any sled lifting. I am using a fairly large frame. Finding anchors was very fast. looks good. Jogged around the edges, seems good. Next trying some cutting without a blade and then some real cutting.
No problems yet just uploading serial in case the data is useful.

What is "apply tension belt limit?
Does it matter where I set the spoilboard and work thickness? I see a place in options dialogue box and also in settings config. Are they the same?
That is a great point. That’s a relatively new setting and we aren’t exposing it in a very obvious way. We might need to put that in the same configuration panel where the wood thickness setting is instead of burring it.
Yes, they should have exactly the same effect. It’s just a way to make it easier to find

This is the amount the belt Maslow draws in before requesting confirmation. It is designed to stop if a belt is not anchored, so you can extend and attach an anchor if you forgot to anchor a belt. It works in conjunction with the amount of belt originally extended.
Incidentally, you don’t need to apply tension if you intend to find anchors

Note also, Find Anchors now automatically sets the Extend distance, which may be longer than needed or desired.
So I have run into a problem now. I thought I was done cutting and unplugged it while it was still extended and on the anchors. It is a lot easier to take it off of the anchors when there is some slack. When I restarted it to try to do that I can’t get it to do anything. The setup button with the gear does not work there is a green retract button but if I click it nothing happens. Is there a way to get back into the setup gear dialogue in order to release tension? I need to override it and add slack to belts.

I have refreshed the browser and restarted the machine and I still can’t get to the setup dialogue to release tension. Is there something I am missing? Where is the release tension button?

Ok, thank you for trying. that is not working. I have restarted and reloaded multiple times. I unplugged it for 30 seconds. plugged it back in, reloaded the page. The page is live, the upload code button and download serial work, it loads the gcode picture, A green “retract” button appears, the options dialogue and button work but the setup button will not do anything. I am going to unscrew the anchors under tension, try the retract button but that is not a good plan. I guess I could do the reset button on the board if that does not work. Is there any other way to bump it out of a rut?
