I just got a 3D printer with my tax returns and now with that i am wanting to print out all the parts needed for the maslow cnc 4 my income fluctuates all the time being a massage therapist so to be able to pay for the full kit outrite is out of my ability to do but to do piece by piece one at a time and build it that i can do. It sucks but it is how it is. I have all the pieces downloaded regarding the 3d printable parts for the frame and such but where do i find the aspects for the actual sled enclosure and such i have been trying to find those files and have been having trouble. But i am just trying to build my skills one at a time and dip my toes into the open source world and this is my first project i am deciding to sink my teeth into it will allow me to do so much that currently i cant do. So any help and guidance and links and where to go is much appreciated it means the world to me thank you so much and i wish you all happy building.
The maslow is not designed for you to 3d print all the parts. it is opensource
and the cad files are all available on the web page under resources. the kit
comes with everything you need (except a dust collector attachment)
those parts are designed to be injection molded and would be very difficult to
print.
many of us have designed replacement parts or supplemental parts that we think
are better than the stock ones (or just ‘good enough’ replacements for when we
break the stock ones )
for the sled itself, I would not try to print thaat, but would look to use
either wood or HDPE or other super-slick plastic
Thank you so much for this i appreciate it i also saw when looking closer on the shopping page that you don’t have to purchase the whole kit in one go you can get pieces and aspects one at a time as well. So that was really good to see as well. I would like to ask where can i find the designs in the community for the sled and such that others are making and then i can just purchase the main parts or order the bare minimum. I am doing my best to get this done on the cheap but still have what i want and unlock this next capability within my set up?
