Lampshade - 1st M4 project

Lampshades out of 5mm plywood. No glue nor screws :slight_smile:

Looks sweet. Did it require a lot of hand finishing after it was cut?

Yes, a bit.
I varnished and light sanded the entire wood panel before cutting โ†’ very quick.
After cutting, quick rough sanding (120) of each part, especially to remove part/panel attachments. Then fine sanding (240) of each part. I would say approx. 25 min per part in total, there are 15 โ†’ not very quick. And it misses a last varnishing, the sides of the parts in particular, that have not been varnished at all.
That being said, only one of the two lampshades on the photo had the above described finishing. The other one was a prototype and has barely been sanded after it has been cut, and had no varnish at all. On the photo I think you canโ€™t tell, and in reality it is difficult too when itโ€™s installed on the ceiling.
