Looses connection with PC: Win11 or just trouble?

I would expect a websocket connected message each time the browser connects, I’m
not seeing that at all here.

these look like this is the startup messages up to about the time the browser
connects.

I just came across this post Problem with Wifi Connection

This seems very similar to what I am seeing up to the part about a bad yaml file, but I did have issue with that a bit ago when I updated to 1.12….

there were a LOT of fixes between 1.12 and 1.13, please upgrade and see if the
problem continues.

the stuff to lie to your computer to make it think it has an Internet connection
is part of the MANY things in 1.13 (over 120 commits between the two)

Est-ce que ca peut aider ?

gilles_vigneron thank you for the post. I made the change in the registry and rebooted. The WiFi manager no longer toggles between “action needed” and “secured” when connected to the M4.1.

So it works ?

The WiFi connection seems stable for now. I have changed so many things. I hope to get to the shop this afternoon to give it a try and see how far I get.

I had a similar problem, and it finally resolved itself when I was able to connect to the home Wi-Fi. As a stop gap, when I use the built in Maslow WiFi I set up a continuous ping

  1. Type in cmd on the Search next to Windows icon at bottom of screen
  2. Click on Command Prompt
  3. This opens a command prompt window
  4. Enter the ping command > ping -t maslow.local
  5. Minimize command prompt window / do not close the window

This has helped to keep the network connection open

I have been assuming that the built-in Maslow wi-fi would be more likely to be stable than using my home wi-fi network. Is that true or not? I have been having disconnection problems lately and want to know if I should try my home network, which did not stay connected to the Maslow when I first tried it months ago. So I gave up on that.

I’ve found that the home network tends to be quite a bit more reliable because a lot of devices don’t like to stay connected to a network which doesn’t have internet access. I would 100% give the home network a try. If you update to 1.16 it’s easier than before to set up too because the wifi network and password settings are now in the config menu

Is is OK or even useful to update the index and the firmware file without updating the yaml file? I don’t want to change my yaml file because I don’t want to set a new X-Y home. I have some cuts that I am trying to fix and it relies on exact registration. I assume that a new yaml file would not learn the existing X-Y home and be able to keep the existing registration.

Absolutly, it should be a very rare case where you need to update the yaml file.
If we are doing our job on the development end, any changes to the yaml file
should be transparent to you. But we don’t always get it right.

When you upgrade your yaml file, ALWAYS keep a copy of the old one. Everything
it stores is in that file and can be manually copied to the new file (either by
editing the text file directly, or by setting it through the GUI)

Thank you guys, and especially Paul for the Command Prompt that made sure I stayed connected!

The home position is stored in Non Volatile Memory (NVM) so is not dependent on the maslow.yaml file.
