Maslow 4 Linear Rod Support

My rods were both 214 mm long!!! Luckily I have an angle grinder and a grinding wheel so I was able to shorten them to 210mm. It might be best to have the instructions say something about measuring the length of the rods before attempting to install them, as I did manage to strip out a couple of Allen wrenches trying to mount the 214mm long rods in the clamping arms (it did say there was supposed to be a gap, but 4.5 mm is a really big gap) before coming on here to figure out what was going on.

Those cracks are unfortunate indeed. I also ended up using 2mm thick shims made from a spare aluminum sheet and it did reduce the amount of tightening that I had to do before (while still getting a firm bolt-down). There was significantly less bending of the support caps. I just finished the frame so now will see if I run into any of the belt issues you had. Like 4buck, I also think getting new support caps sent to you would be better than epoxying for strength purposes.
