Maslow issues (Wi-fi, clicking noises, random turning off)

Hi everyone,

We got a Maslow six months ago, but we are still unable to get it to work properly.

First issue: We’re experiencing random Wi-Fi disconnects. We’re only 5 meters away from the Wi-Fi repeater, and there are no obstructions between the Maslow and the repeater. However, Maslow intermittently shows that it’s disconnected. We also tried connecting directly to Maslow’s Wi-Fi, but this also failed. Maslow keeps disconnecting during jobs, calibration (which was already a challenge to complete, taking around 40 attempts), and even normal left-right movement commands from the UI.

Second issue: When we manage to get Maslow working for a short period, we hear strange clicking noises coming from one of the encoders. Please help. We tried to attach video, but new users cannot do that

Third issue: Even when Maslow is working, it seems to power off briefly, which might be related to the first issue. We suspect this because, first, we lose the internet connection, then the UI won’t load, and when it returns, Maslow is in an ALARM state and doesn’t recognize the belt lengths.

Fourth and hopefully final issue: We can’t stop Maslow from the UI when it’s running. Clicking the large STOP button in the UI has no effect on Maslow, which has caused damage to the frame’s anchor points.

Unfortunately, Maslow isn’t located where we live, so gathering logs is difficult. However, when we tried to collect logs, they were usually empty and showed no signs of specific errors.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This I think is the key issue. This means that the machine has fully reset (like turned off and back on again).

Do you see anything going on with the lights? Is there anything that seems to lead to the issue? Logs could help to see what is going on

There is nothing going on with the lights, it’s constantly flashing machines IP address. Serial is empty like nothing happend

That is super weird. I’m going to DM you a code to order a free replacement controller so that we can get that in the mail and rule out a hardware issue.

There is someone else having a loosely related issue, can you give the fix here a try?

We will try as soon as possible, where can I look for DM from you?

I have a very clear memory of sending you a DM, but I’m not seeing it in my outbox so maybe I didn’t :grimacing: I just sent you a code, let me know if you don’t get a notification that you have a message from me

I I have exactly the same problems. and I want so badly to start producing something fantastic. instead of being frustrated.

Can you tell us more about what is going on? When does it happen? What have you tried to fix it?

I have installed the latest updates. and had no problems during the calibration.

but I drove the machine around it lost the ability to respond to what I pressed. it helps to relearn website, (it helps sometimes).
and some of the times when I finally got it to run a gcode, where I then had to stop it, it only stopped for a split second to just continue running afterwards. ).

and several times where I have had to start over because when I drive the machine to where I want to start my carving. then it loses where the straps are. so the straps had to be pulled back and out again. to start all over again.

as well as sometimes when I have just restarted the machine and want to e.g. drive 100 mm. to the left, it runs much longer, but immediately afterwards it runs again the 100 mm.

I haven’t been able to cut anything successfully yet.

I have tried with both mobile and several laptops. also plugging a USB-C cable directly into the machine. without better results.

Do you see any error messages in the console? The common one to see which might fit what you are seeing would he “position error exceeded 15mm”

I didn’t seem to run into that problem. but I have experienced that it is crazy with the Z axis. that the 2 motor/axles do not run parallel up and down. (one is 10-15 mm. higher than the other.) have tried a couple of times to run them down until they were both at the bottom and then reset The Z axis there.

I have looked at what advice others have received here.

i will clean the connectors and use hot glue gun to attach them.

as well as tried to change settings in internet settings so that it updates the website all the time.

and look for the message about a deviation of 15 mm.

I’ll report back when I’ve tried it out.
