My dear friend Marc purchased a Maslow in 2018, if I’m not mistaken. Together we built that thing and at ‘first light’ Marc got sick and passed away very quickly.
His Maslow has never milled a thing sinds.
Now his dear wife Martine asked me to come and get it because : Takes to much room in her garage. I will buy that Maslow.
I have a few questions :
Can I download software for that old Maslow. Is there newer software/firmware available for that old thing. Is a 2018 Maslow a ‘First generation’…?
Can I rebuild that Maslow, rotating the plywood sheet(in fact the workplane) 90°
Forgot to mention, I’m from Belgium, maybe just maybe there’s someone in my vicinity (Boechout) also working with a Maslow and could share information.
Marc was from Lint
Disclaimer: It will not work with a M2 from makermade as they use a DUE board you will need their software. Easy way to identify if it’s a makermade M2 is the sled is painted all blue with a giant M2 on it.
If you have any questions with webcontrol or setting up. I am willing to help via zoom. I’m in California so it may be difficult to setup a time that works for both of us.
I’m rebuilding mine towards a maslow 4 since my old one was also taking too much space and had some issues with calibration. Im still working on it though. Im from ghent area.
Maxim,
It would be better I think continue by mail.
Is that ok with you…?
Tim,
Thanks for the opportunity, I think the time difference(9 hours) will be a problem to communicate using zoom.
Anyway, whenever I have additional questions I could always mail, if that’s ok with you…?
Sure, Maximtruwant@gmail.com. I never got my old maslow to really work though due to some electrical noise problems I had whenever I turned on my router. For the maslow 4 im building, I want to reuse the old rigid router for which im printing modified parts and I will reuse the sled as it is not available in the shop right now. The goal for me is also to get rid of the fixed frame which is taking up a whole wall in the garage. Instead I want to work with hooks fixed to the wall.
