As designed, for sure, but I think I should be able to either make a compliant clamping mechanism that gives a snug enough fit, or just do it as a clamshell. Will definitely be easier to do either starting from your stl than doing the measurements. I keep meaning to take some, but keep remembering when I’m having downtime at work, where Ihave a computer, but no Maslow to measure…
Have you by chance done the encoder board mod to ground the DIR pin? I have these errors too and am suspicious of the floating ground so plan to fix that today (as well as do all the other mods everyone has been trying) to see if I can make my machine reliable and consistent.
No, only grounding I added was a copper wire inside my vacuum host, dust collector, and stuck into wet dirt.
Back up and running this morning, no mods or change in setup.
Possible issues:
- User error after the first failure, not sure I remembered to tension the belts.
- Overheating. Letting the Maslow rest and trying again later seems to work. It is outside, not in the direct sun. It is 60F this morning vs 75F last night. I might start using my IR thermometer.
This is interesting, Ill start taking note of the temperature when I’m running my tests. Altspace doesn’t have AC so temp can vary quite a bit, even over the course of one day.
Since it’s so little filament, I went ahead and printed a version that just has slightly more forgiving tolerances and added these tabs that should help hold things in place. I don’t expect to be able to get it on the unit, but I can at least see how far off from that I am and adjust.
That looks awesome!
Bigger tolerances also mean that dust could get in again though.
Turns out it fits great, it’s just that those features are way too thin, and I would also need to print it on it’s side with support. Add to that the way it interferes with the clip, I think I have an idea for something that can be put on over a clipped cable using the same premise as what I tried augmenting your design with.
Had the same issue and replacing the ethernet cables seemed to help.
i take that back, it temporarily helped and is now running into the same issues
