I’m getting ready for my first cut. I can see the .nc files in the pop up window that I want to upload from my iPad to Maslow using “load G-code” button but when the browser window pops up to locate the file on my iPad the .nc file is grayed out so it can’t be selected. Any others experienced this?
Yes I have experienced this as well. I switched to my laptop instead to run the M4 after this but would love to use iPad to operate the M4 instead.
That is interesting that we both experienced the same thing. There has to be a reason…
Are you controlling the Maslow by opening safari and typing maslow.local into the address bar?
Bar,
For sure, everything else works great in the iPad version of Safari for controlling Maslow, just can’t upload a g-code file… It works using my Mac but that is not convenient for me since my Mac is upstairs and the Maslow is in the basement. Thoughts?

The only time that I’ve seen that happen is when I connect directly to the machine by connecting to the “Maslow” access point and it opens a popup which will control the machine but won’t let files be uploaded (because you can’t upload a file from within a popup). Closing that popup and opening the regular browser fixes it though. If that’s not what’s going on here then I’ll have to see if I can borrow an ipad to track it down
I had somewhat similar experience and the sequence I worked out was…
- From garage, connect ipad to maslow.local and go through retract, extend, tension to where M4 was ready
- From Office PC, connect to maslow.local and then import the .NC files I wanted to cut
- Then on Office PC, I switched to Dashboard view and scrolled to bottom of page where I could clean up all the files that were there to ensure just what I wanted to cut was left, then I hit refresh button on the same screen window
- Then, back to garage ipad, and select load .nc file and it is visible and loads.
Probably an easier way, but I trial and error till I find what works and move on
Bill,
Great minds think alike that is exactly my workaround. I set up Maslow and get it into position with the iPad. Then load the file and get Maslow ready to cut the file. And I can execute from the iPad back down in the basement. Working so far Thanks for your input.

Nicky,
Thanks for the reply. I have been setting up using iPad and loading files at the desktop. The strategy seems to work ok for now, mildly inconvenient…. Thanks Again, Pete
@bar adding this here. Uploading files still an issue. Was using Chrome browser.
Also noticing that the cut preview screen doesn’t show the full workspace which is obviously not ideal. Back to using laptop but was hoping to be able to us that while machine is cutting with iPad.
Thanks for the video, that is super helpful! That seems fixable. I thought that maybe ipad just didn’t allow file uploading at all, but it looks like it’s mostly working just that it won’t let you select the files.
This looks to me like it might be an issue with the file extensions that it will allow you to select. There is an option under preferences to change which file types it will upload, I wonder if messing with that could make a difference.
