I’ve pulled my Maslow apart to check for friction in the belt spools (and yes they were very tight, much tighter than when first assembled - but that’s a story for another post)
On inspection one of the arms was coated with oil on the underside.
I think that inside the motor gear box is the only real source that would makes sense. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing, but it could be a good idea to check to make sure that the gearbox is firmly attached to the motor because they can come unscrewed from each other
