Where did this oil come from?

I’ve pulled my Maslow apart to check for friction in the belt spools (and yes they were very tight, much tighter than when first assembled - but that’s a story for another post)

On inspection one of the arms was coated with oil on the underside.

Could this have come from the motor gearbox?

Is this a bad thing?

I think that inside the motor gear box is the only real source that would makes sense. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing, but it could be a good idea to check to make sure that the gearbox is firmly attached to the motor because they can come unscrewed from each other
