Z-Axis Controls Belts

Has anyone else experience this:?
I paused a program and restarted the program not the firmware via fluid NC, I needed the z axis to cut more so I was just going to define zero lower so I went down on z. When I did this the belts went slack. I thought it was strange so I did it again and the belts sent more out.

I had this happen with firmware 0.68

I would replace your files on your Maslow with the most recent from the interstitial firmware updates thread.

I am running 0.70.1

Can you get a video of it? I haven’t seen that behavior, but it sounds like it could be a bug

I have some video where would you like it sent?

Can you post a link here? Whenever possible I try to keep everything in the forums because someone else might see it and have a good idea

Sounds good, here it is. It doesn’t have all of the display but I believe it was in hold mode. https://photos.app.goo.gl/sJRg6nmzgYn2n4FT8

Oh interesting! Thanks for the video that is super helpful. That 100% shouldn’t be like that.

It looks like a bug to me. I’ll see if I can replicate it and I’ll get working on a fix.

The way to make it happen was to start a .nc file, pause it, then move the z-axis while paused?

That is correct with the only caveat that I used fluid NC to pause the execution, I am not sure if that matters.

FluidNC like the pause button within the fluidNC tab and not the Maslow tab?

This is correct.
