Z-axis: one motor gets stuck? / does not work?

Hi,

I just finished building my Maslow 4.1.

However, when trying to adjust the z-axis height, one motor doesn’t seem to work as expected.
Initially, I was able to move the router down all the way, but I can’t seem to get it up anymore as one motor will only go up about 1-2 mm, while the other motor will go up the full amount (5mm). I have also tried to “help” the motor by trying to lift up that side while moving up the z-axis but it didn’t make any difference.

I have also tried to swap the motor cables, but the same motor still doesn’t work.

I have also had an issue where the bottom left belt would only retract a tiny bit each time, even at 2100 retraction force. This issue has been fixed (for now at least) by installing the firmware update again.

I don’t know if these issues relate to each other, but I have read in the forums that it might be the main board.

If needed, I have made a video of the motor trying to extend, but I am unable to upload it because I am a new user.

Any help would be appreciated

Try loosening the screws holding the Z motors to the sled, if they are slightly out of alignment this can happen. If you can raise it with them slightly loose, then lower again and tighten the bolts with the Z access right down it should fix it.
