2mm difference when cutting circle. how to adjust?

Hi there, love the maslow4. Just testing it out. Just cut out a circle with a 500mm diameter.
Everything went great. When i measured the circle i saw the its one way exact 50mm but on other places 52mm.

Can i adjust this? Tried to recalibrate but same issue?
Excuse me if i have bad grammar, english is not my native language.

This is actually what we are working on figuring out right now! We’re running though finding the optimal size for the calibration grid to hopefully make the calibration process more precise. Hopefully we’ll have something in this week’s update, but it might be next week

Is there any progress on this? I understand it is a difficult task. And you want it to be calibration without any input, but wouldn’t it be a temporary solution that the user can choose between automatic calubration or calibration with input from the user?

Then you have time to search for a solution

Since all that the calibration does is set the anchor point coordinates, you can
skip the calibration and enter your own numbers.

This thread talks about an onshape doc that lets you make measurements and gives
you the resulting coordinates to put into the maslow.yaml file

i used the file to adjust the yalm file.
When i did a test cut it seems x-axis is straight on but y-axis is 5 mm of.
can i adjust for this?
3 test cuts all the same output

so in this case, the automated calibration gave better results (2mm of error vs
5mm of error)

the fact that it’s reporting an error on the diagonal measurement of -4.42mm
indicates that you may be able to benefit from more careful measurements. you
may want to play with this vernier adapater that I designed to try and get
sub-mm measurements, but even estimating to 1/2 or 1/3 of a mm as you are
reading the tape measure may help

when you did the automated calibration, do you know what fitness score you had?

the good news is that as you ae seeing, it is very repeatable. But you may have
different errors in different areas of your workpiece.

you can distort the workpiece in your CAD software to correct for the errors
that you are seeing on the machine.

As Bar said above, this is a problem we are working on, but don’t have a good
answer for yet.
