3-Way Pedal Truck Project (Stevenson Project)

I respect the honor of someone who writes this and I love the build.
The uploading files questions are increasing in the forum and I’m happy to share your view.

It is done…

Here are the final photos for this build. We (Sreenigne) will (hopefully) spend the next few weeks getting every change I made documented and all drawings updated. While my partner focuses on this boring stuff, I will be starting a new project… Another pedal vehicle or the Steam Roller? Have not decided yet.

Adding the aluminum flashing hood required me to add stiffeners to the hood and I also added side pieces to hide screws used to attach the flashing. The aluminum flashing material I used was too thin and would dent with any abuse (this is a child"s toy). The stiffeners are made from 1" x 4" x 3/4" thick pressure treated tongue and groove material I had laying around ($2.50/16 foot length).

I hollowed the stiffeners turning them more like ribs to lighten it up.
I know I could have made the entire hood like this, but wanted the metallic look.

Side pieces and stiffeners installed. Stiffeners are free floating.

Side pieces stained and ready to install.

The final front views (for now). Everything I removed to install the hood has been put back on and ready to secure the Pie Wagon (Removable connections) to the main vehicle.

Pie Wagon side connectors. The back of the Pie Wagon frame is already secured with a hinge mechanism identical to that used on the dump bed (see earlier post).

Side connectors for Pie Wagon installed.

My shop has never been that clean . Wish I had your treated 1x4 source, 16 footers are way more up here.

Nice build!

I cleaned it up just for the photo. No matter what I do, I can not eliminate dust so I spent the last 6 months or so making the shop layout such that I blow it out with an air hose. I am blessed with having a liquidation company close that specialized in wood products.

Off topic sort of:
I wish someone would make a “shop version” of a robot vacuum systems (Kickstarter?) that would be cabable of picking up all my dust and small pieces of wood in the shop. Even with a good vacuum system with my Maslow, there is dust. My sanding stations and my Shopsmith (Amazing machine I highly recommend) do not help either when it comes to a clean shop. While I am dreaming, make it empty itself when full into a “dump location” so it is almost fully automatic. If anyone wants to take this and run with it, I would be very happy to test your products for you  .

Please email me at the following email address with your proof of purchase and I will get it to you.

As stated above

"I will insist that anyone requesting digital copies of the Stevenson project pedal vehicle plans to provide me with proof that you own a copy of the plans you are asking for.

Once I receive your email with the requested proof of purchase, I will send the scan copy to you.

Send all requests to:

Please include “pedal truck pdf” as the title of the message.
If you are asking for another of the pedal vehicles from their website, be certain to specify this in the body of your email.

will do

I love it. Are you still going to paint the hood, and add the leather straps?

I don’t plan to paint as I don’t think I can get good bond on the Aluminum. I looked at putting green vinyl straps on it, but it looked too busy. If I find a pair of leather belts I will add them.

The big question is where am I going to out this??? I also need to.find space for:

Ride inside (foot powered) Jeep

The ride on biplane (plans posted)

and a tractor.

I might have to build another garage just for all of my toys.

Roomba had the “Dirt Dog” but discontinued it. You might be able to find a lightly used one

Back when I lived on an airport they used a “wash primer” to prep aluminum for painting.

Build a bigger garage than you think you you’ll ever need, and design it to be added on to

Makita has one

Mercy! They’re mighty proud of that thing! :flushed: :money_with_wings:

Yeah, didn’t say it was cheap, just that it exists

Maybe the Maslow Community can design and build a better/cheaper one. I could believe it with some of the clever folks here!

Agree 1000%

I don’t think a standard roomba would have that much of a problem with sawdust, it just needs a bigger collection tray.

It should be capable of dumping the trash automatically

While we are at it, lets also have it compress the waste into pellets that we can burn in wood burning stoves to heat our shops

It would be a fitting and honorable end for all the “man glitter” we create.

FYI: I do not mean to offend you ladies that are in the forum. My wife calls saw dust “man glitter” and I think it is funny.
