4.1 Kit - issues after firmware upgrade

Hi All - looking to see if anyone else has had an similar issues… machine setup and was ready to start playing with it… then reviewed software version on maslow and decided to upgrade to latest firmware before I started with first cut :frowning:

Firmware / version I received with the unit. V0.88 from Dec '24. I went to load 1.05. after finishing the procedure, I was able to log into system but not perform any actions nothing seems to be responding. So I’ve tried to down grade to 1.04 and finally back to V0.88. When I go to setup the State indicates Retracting. I try and issue a stop command but not able to get it out of the state : retracting.

did you do the upgrade with the USB cable?

did you save your maslow.yaml before the upgrade and copy it back (or at least
the Maslow* values)?

David Lang

Yep - used the cable and followed the procedure… I assumed that the config file was replaced as part of the process but ended up trying to upload an additional Maslow.yaml file on top… However, in trying to do so in FluidNC was running into the following bug….

https://forums.maslowcnc.com/t/fluidnc-from-1-05-renaming-bug-on-android-chrome/

And ended up with Maslow.yaml.yaml or other strange file names like OK or cancel…

It’s been a challenge but have been able to regain control of the machine after several flashes, learned more about fluidnc, and even got some practice with fluidterm and $ commands  during the process.

Still not convinced it’s 100% clean so I’ll likely be performing another flash and full install.

This sounds like this bug to me!

@md8n Do you have any insights on what might be going on there?

If this was windoze then maybe, but as it is Chrome on Android, not sure
