Wondering where else people might have uploaded plans for projects they used the Maslow on - something like thingiverse but for large CNC, or any CNC for that matter.
Love the community garden here, but I’d like to see a large collection of things people have made with Maslow and shared the plans for others to use.
I’m working on a replacement for the garden for exactly that reason, but I’ve still got a couple bugs that I need to fix on the machine first so it isn’t getting my full attention
Wow! That would be awesome. I need to justify the space this thing takes up in our garage now. New cabinets, wine racks, cool signage, etc. Wife approves and it gets to stay without me taking much grief.
I hear that – I’ve been told I have too many toys, My first m4 project was a “laundry” sign for my wife; now talking about other cool projects for the house. Happy wife, happy life!
I’d love to see a repository of cool stuff that’s easy to use. The garden is not that hard to use, but I would love to see something faster/easier to share things with.
Under the “keep the wife happy” category: Try these:
Although I am not sure she likes me using the laundry as photo background… so don’t tell on me
There are a few repositories of opendesk’s designs out there, but there is a bit of controversy around their licensing.
Here’s the most complete one I’ve been able to find
AtFAB Open Source Furniture by Filson & Rohrbacher could be a try as well:
Projects are hard to find, and good ones are even harder. Here are a few of my favorites:
Inventables, the makers of X-Carve and Easel, have a really good project area that is easy to use, and has some great projects - Projects | Inventables
Open Builds has a project page - Projects | OpenBuilds
Etsy is actually a pretty good source for projects and digital files. They do cost money, but not a lot. Everything that I have purchased so far has worked out fine. https://www.etsy.com/
I have found thousands of vectors on 3Axis https://3axis.co and lots of them intended for laser, but they are all free.
Cheers!
What do you search for on Etsy to find files appropriate for the Maslow?
I search for what I am looking for, example “Santa Tray” and “cut file”.
You can use “cutting file”, “SVG”, “DXF”, “plan”, or “digital download” in combination with whatever word describes what you are searching for.
You can also simply search for something by a word or description, and then select “Filters” and under format, choose “digital download”.
You will get all sorts of results, and it is up to you to decide if your machine can do it or not, there is not anything that is specific to Maslow, or any machine in general besides Cricut (which you can also do).
Digital files on Etsy will have a little blue icon under them that says “Digital Download”, and the price is usually a pretty good indication that it is a download file instead of an actual product. A digital download should be less than $20, and I have found many that are just a few dollars.
With my “Santa Plate” example above, I found a bundle digital download with 34 different designs (and I received all 34) for $1.91 CAD. If you live in the US, it is even cheaper.
It’s worth checking out, and I have not been disappointed yet.
