Can you display Webcontrol screen from Rasp Pi when using another computer to control the Router

measured and triple checked measurement I may add

Orob put together several videos on top of a description madgrizzle put together that describes things in detail. I’ll dig through them later today and send you some links.

You may want to reconfirm the maesurments again but yeah if those things havent changed then they should still be good.

See just in case something happened, I think is what you are saying I need…

I’m going to need to step away for a while, I have some family things to do. I will jump back on later tonight and send some things your way.

In the meantime, I’ll plan on heading out to my machine on the morning and checking in aroun 10AM

yes no way they changed…she is mounted to wall very firmly, and no one goes near it. yes if you have video, awesome. I do remember all that and how I did it, so if the same and that is what you are referring to doing…I think may be able to handle it and will try today.

ok awesome thank you!! I will see if can recalibrate, and if issues will let you know and either way 10 am we can meet back up. Thank you so much for all your help! I just need to figure out first how to wipe the .json file clean, and then starting the calibration looks to be in the Actions. Enjoy the family time!!! Thanks again!!!

I can show you how to remove the .json file (you just need to rename it). How familiar are you with linux command line interface?

I think it may be the Wipe controller and Settings but let me research, and if cannot figure out 10 am it is

familiar. oh I get it now…rename it now through putty, something with BAD on the end of it before the .json. Then do calibration as it has none, it will place a new .json file in the folder structure after calibration right? Then save that new .json file with the button in Actions. Then if gets corrupt, you load the .json file with loader button after you then change THAT .json file to another name so the configurations are gone. Am I close?

Through putty you can go to the fiel and jsut rename it to .old or .bad or whatever.

After this webcontrol will create a new .json file but its going to wipe all of your settings info and use defaults.

yes I think I get it now!!! This what I need to get me started I think…I will try this now, and if troubles or regardless we can reconnect when at your machine!!

if I do get this to work, which think I can…DO NOT load the ground control.ini, it is no longer needed right? its almost the pre-.json file creattion right? Then when this is all complete as I mentioned above in those steps, I can run Holey again right

Its more than just renaming the .json file and recalibrating. You’ll need to enter in you measurments and extend chains too. You will be effectively starting from scratch

Yes correct, as there are no setting now so do the new calbration steps process in the Webcontrol like I did in ground control, I can use my numbers as trust my measurements.

Correct, DO NOT LOAD HTE GC .INI File. It’s no longer valid. You will need to manualy enter the information into webcontrol from scratch.

ok yes I get it now  It may take a little bit, but I do understand what you are saying to do (at least I feel I do)!!! This is great, thank you and will try this, I have all day to play so why not right

My steps will be as such just to summarize before you leave for the day:

1 Rename the .json file on the Pi to something else.
2. No more settings anymore, do the setup and calibration as if brand new machine where you only have Webcontrol to set it up
3. During this calibration, follow the steps, and use my measurements (space between motors, rail height or whatever, etc). if do not have a measurement, I will measure what Webcontrol asks for
4. When calibration complete, it will now create a new .json file with the configurations (just like groundcontrol creates it’s .ini file) DO NOT use the ground control.ini file, since I calibrated I have have new configurations saved in a .json file
5. Copy this clean .json file copy to have if this happened again…I can always reload it using the button if this ever happens again where the .json file gets corrupt. Same process, name the current.json as something different, Webcontrol thinks no settings, but dont need to calibrate next as I can load a .json file *the one saving later on today
6. Rerun Holey calibration
7. Make sure to change those z axis settings if the calibration today does not handle that for me
8. test part.
9 10 am we chat and see how it goes, although will probably post any success for you to see later on if you long on
10. You enjoy time with your family while I do this

just make sure you start your set up with the extend chains exercise

dont backup the .json until you are completly done with the set up and calibration
