You are exactly right, I just can’t justify spending the bones and don’t have room for a big stationary unit. I have to keep everything mobile so I can rearrange depending on what I am doing. Too many tools and too many hobbies. I need a real shop someday.

If you want breathing air type filtration you will need a secondary filtration setup with HEPA grade media. The typical filter bags on dust collection units knock out the bulk of the dust, its the fine dust particles which bypass the bag.
