Ok, I’m now caught in a Catch 22. I’m trying to load an .NC file and when I try to run it I get an error message but it is drowned by the Emergency Stop Errors and I can never read it. At that point the only fix is to turn off the machine and restart it. This then requires me to disconnect the leads, retract them, extract them, tighten them and try again which takes way too long to run retries. I’ve spent most of the afternoon in that cycle. What am I missing here?
Also, is there no way to see what the current fitness level is without rerunning calibration?
Yeah, that emergency stop message is super annoying. I need to come up with a better way. Before that message it would just stop responding and not explain why which was also bad. We’ve got to land somewhere in the middle.
Doing Control+A and then Control+C will copy everything and then you can past the whole log somewhere and see the error messages.
There isn’t, but that is an interesting idea. When would you want to use that?
There doesn’t seem to be an issue with the file, I’m running it now. I think that what happened is that the error for the belts being too tight was triggered, did the belts seem super tight?
Are you able to move around with the arrow buttons without issues?
I’m working on a fix to make that error message more readable right now.
Good to know. No idea what the error message was, maybe I’ll be able to catch it tomorrow. Cables didn’t seem to tight and I was indeed able to navigate manually.
The file was just something I threw together in Easel and anyone is free to use it.
which will fix the issue of it not being clear what the error messages was (probably), but it won’t fix the underlying issue that there was an error message.
Note that this does not work if the messages are spewing out (at least I could never get it to… have to power off, then right after heartbeat missed message, you can select the text and copy. I think it should be possible to add a “copy” button to that text box that does the copy for you, but that type thing is not supported by all browsers.
Worked for me … the error message I got was
[MSG:INFO: Extending all belts]
[MSG:INFO: All belts extended to center position]
[MSG:ERR: Motor current on Top Right axis exceeded threshold of 4000]
[MSG:ERR: PANIC! Stopping all motors]
[MSG:INFO: Set to comply]
[MSG:INFO: Set to comply]
…
I was able to release tension and retighten belts and then run the .nc file. It looks to be proceeding normally (it’s a dry run right now).
