Happy Halloween! Boo! first cut!

Got it working just in time. My friend is turning his house into a life size ghostbusters garage and needed a sign. This one is small but I will make him a full size one for next year. Very fun to see it working.

Thank you again to Dlang and Ian_ab and Bar and other nice community members who helped troubleshoot lots of things and got me started.

Krabzcam to calculate toolpaths great 2D tool!
fast fold up frame. very pleased with how that is working for me.
wood is an old desk veneer on particleboard from my neighbor’s trash. I checked carefully for metal.
Accuracy was good mostly but it is meant to be square and is 1/2 shorter in the sideways direction. I did not tell the machine that it was cutting on a raised surface. I calibrated on the waste board.

Also I learned that if the svg had parts of the design that were too narrow then krabzcam just didn’t cut there. You can see it in the fingers of the ghost. The Black ghost pocket cuts and the red sign pocket cuts were exactly next to each other in the plan but there was a mm of wood wall left between them? I guess if i really care I would overlap next time
Had to start and restart several times including taking the machine away and hooking it back up. Machine and frame had good accuracy. the outside line got cut twice and was only about 1mm wider the second time. it was a straight single pass in the plan with the 1/8 in blade

Thats an interesting frame setup you have there. How did you come up with that? Does it seem sturdy enough?

It is working great. I was playing around with how to make something that I can fold up and store and put in my car. It folds down to 4 2x8s, a wasteboard and a bag of chain. I did 14 hours of cutting on it with no problems. I haven’t run accuracy tests but when I had to recut things it was within a mm. Here are instructions: Scroll down for the one that i updated. also I think there are better solutions for the middle. My current favorite idea would be 8 mending plates with a pin through them.
