I am on a windows laptop

Thank you for the help
so you have a “classic” maslow. It sounds like the motors are not turning and the most likely cause is the power connection. The controller “brain” (Arduino Mega - bottom board) gets power from the USB. The DC motors have their own 12V power supply and get their power when it is connected to the shield (top board). The motor not keeping up message says the motors aren’t moving and they were expected to move. Please double check there is 12V power to to top board.
hi Orob! thank you for responding so quickly, my cord is plugged into the top part, is there supposed to be an additional cable for the bottom one? does this look correct?Thank you
that looks right. There is power to your motors. z axis is the plug in the middle.
There should be a motor test button. I don’t know groundcontrol very well. Webcontrol is the software to use with the system currently.
so i have found the test motor button and nothing happens, it tells me to reset the alarm and there is none is it possible something is not working correctly?
Did the Arduino flash successfully? In the arduino program can you open a serial monitor window and see the Arduino sending data?
i found the serial monitor
its doing something
but not legible for me
better forsure
what am i looking for?
yes! now what imformation am i trying to look for
If you have a similar picture like mine, it tell us that the firmware is loaded and running.
The moment you start the serial motor it tells also the version that is flashed onto the Arduino.
Thank you!
Now it would be of interest what appears in the right down console what you start GrounControl.
hope this helps
Click on → Actions, then ports
make sure the Arduino IDE is closed when you start GC, or they will start a fight for the com-port
If you have selected the same port as the Arduino IDE used to flash the firmware, you should see a -> Connected
On a different note, it hurts me to say that GC is officially declared discontinued.
Consider moving to WebControl. Use the ‘holy firmware’.
The most recommend, I run it on my Maslow, a GC is still there as a backup.
There is Makerverse at the horizon, buy it in testing phase still. If you plan to help with debugging, worth a look.
