Hey, I’m a middle school shop teacher in Fairbanks, Alaska who just got a Maslow last week. The kids are assembling it now, and I am wondering if I messed up by not ordering the Z axis. I thought it would be too much for the kids to deal with out of the gate and would be a better option for down the road. Can we still make complex stuff without the Z-axis.
Tending the z axis is very tedious…
I think the z-axis is absolutely worth it.
@blurfl is right that doing it by hand is a lot of work. I also think that having the z-axis might give students a better experience of CNC because part of the magic is being able to be “hands off” while it cuts out parts for you.
If you want one, shoot us an email (email@example.com) and we’ll send you one!
I would always go with it. It isn’t much more work and it is a one time process to install.
Email out! We’ll take it ASAP! The kids are crazy for it!
Is there any way I can expedite shipment? I will pay!
