Trying to upgrade from v0.71 (Maslow-Main-29e09af3-dirty) to latest release

I am trying to upgrade my firmware and followed the video to update via USB but when I run the full-install.bat it ends with NO COM PORT.

How do I fix that? The USB is connected to my computer.

most of the time that we’ve seen this, trying a different USB cable has fixed
the problem.

@makermade might be able to assist if this is a MakerMade product. It sounds like you might be using a Maslow4 or 4.1 as v0.71 is a firmware for the recent Maslow. If that is the case, there are forum threads better suited for support - this is for Maker Made support.

If you do have a MakerMade product, it is not compatible with the Maslow4 firmware. Our support resources are here and Xavier will be able to help through our support resources: M2 Resources – MakerMade for M2 or Maslow Resources – MakerMade for the Maker Made Maslow CNC or MakerMade Jumpstart variants

Either way, someone can help you get it sorted out if you can share the product you have here so we can point you in the right direction.

Thanks.

David,

I switched to another USB cable and port - same issue.

Check the USB cable with your phone connected to the computer to validate that the USB can carry data. There are 2 different USB cords ones just for charging and ones that charge and can carry data.

Could it be the boot button? I think that not holding that down can cause that issue:

I do hold the boot button down for a long time.

When you do Power Off ->Boot Button Down → Power On → Plug In does the computer make a sound indicating that something has been plugged in or show a popup?

Is this on Mac or Windows?

It is on Windows. It doesn’t appear that the USB is connecting at all. So I need to find a different cable.

I found the right USB cable and it worked. I am now on v1.13 (Maslow-Main-13c33c4c)

Thanks!
