What insider backer number are we up to on shipping?

#1238 was just delivered in Sacramento. Except for a very slightly bumped corner and a slight (non-penetrating) rip on one side, the box is absolutely perfect. Kudos to @Anna and the team!

My employer for some crazy reason requires me to actually work, so I’ll get to unboxing it later today.

Hey neighbor! I am near Oakland, not too far away from Sac. Cheers!

I’ll avoid making any baseball references…

So I really feel I have reaped the benefits of iterative improvements to the packing process. Everything arrived intact- no burst bags, no broken parts, no loose components. (Admittedly, my M4 had a leisurely drive down the left coast…)

All the ‘large’ parts (except the sled)-

All the ‘small’ parts, sorted-

Just in the interest of documenting (Not a complaint);

  • The back of the controller board has some flux residue- not terrible, I’ve seen much worse on $$$ equipment.
  • The 'bottom" edge of the dust collector lip on the sled is quite rough and shows some incomplete fill. It does not appear to be broken in either handing or shipping- this appears to be a molding fault. In no way does this appear to affect the finished product.

I complained to the factory about that too, we will see if they improve.

I agree with this too. I’d like to thicken that bit up a bit which will be a mold change.

Incomplete fill, or a ‘short shot’, can also be caused by inadequate venting or non-optimal molding parameters. The first is a mold design issue, easily fixed, and the other two are setup and process control issues. All three are the responsibility of the mold house and you should hold them to it.

I don’t have my unit yet, but from looking at the picture I think it is a process parameter issue, as you seem to get complete fill near the bosses which (I think) allow an additional route for molten plastic to fill the rim or edge. No reason that the molder cannot fix this with changes to temperature, dwell, and pressure settings.

Thickening the edge will make it easier for the factory, up to a point, where it would cause sink marks which are their own problem.

Markus here from Austria. Recieved Maslow Package Yesterday. (#1248)
EU tax and toll was 135,02 EUR.
Package arrived in perfect condition.
One thing to mention the Power-Plug is not correct for Austria/Germany,
but I have plenty spare. IMHO you could skip packing it.
Greetings from Graz, Austria! Markus

We are up to 1613ish now! Unfortunately we need another restock of PCBs to finish up Batch 3, they are in the works though and I’m hopeful they will ship to us next week
