Hi all,
Alex from Yangan in Queensland. Have just built my frame and started the calibration process. Hit a couple of snags. The main being that my Ryobi Plunge Router and my Makita Brushless Router will not be suitable for the z-axis. Are there any aussies out there that have a router that works?
I have looked at this one and thinking it might be an option…

Is Bosch available to you?
This video might help you pick:
Keep in mind that with some of the upgraded z-axis options more types of routers can work.
Also, you could build “the meticulous x-axis” and use any router. All you need is $31 worth of extra hardware and plywood.

I used one of these (Bosch 1200W POF 1200 AE Router | Mitre 10) and modified it as per the wiki (Bosch POF 1200 z-axis conversion guide).
I did add an octopus strap on top to help the Z-axis retract.
I do have a spindle and plans to build a meticulous Z axis that fit it, but in the meantime, this works perfectly for me.
