I can take the critique but most doesn’t make sense since the replies come from people that don’t understand the situation.
I just saw your other post about modifying your sled. Poor design. Not sure why you are happy with this guy.
Hope it works out for you soon. Can you message PayPal and give them the delivery acknowledgment, so they can move along without waiting on this guy?
I finally got it no thanks to that guy. PayPal ended the dispute finally. I’ve never had an issue getting a refund from an online transaction like this. He was sitting on it for as long as he could. He very well could have refunded it when he promised before I disputed it with PayPal. Had he sent me new stuff to begin with none of this would have been an issue. How he can send used stuff and damaged items is beyond me.
Glad to hear PayPal made it right.
I like him because with his help I am making things like this on my first day with the machine. He was never anything but polite and willing to help (I treated him the same…). I am using a heavier router than he recommended, so I had to modify my sled a little. It is easy to attack and blame someone online, but with a little work I have a super accurate machine doing exactly what I need it to, what is not to like?
Ja
sonYou were lucky, obviously.
Lucky?!? I couldn’t disagree more, for every one person complaining there are a hundred making great things. This is not an easy machine, but it is a great one. Anything open source and DIY is going to come with challenges…I wasn’t lucky, I had realistic expectations. Now I have a wonderful new addition to my business, and I am as happy as I can be. This seems to bother a few people, I do not care a bit

You know there is more than one person who has complained about this guy, right? I doubt he has thousands of sales, positive or not.
My expectations were realistic also, because they were what we communicated by email before purchase. He failed to deliver. Happened to me and others.
I’m sorry to hear that, for you and the others. My experience was 2 day shipping of exactly what was ordered and quick support when I needed it. I don’t really like or dislike the guy, I just did some business with him and had a perfectly positive experience. I believe both sides of every story should be told.

So after 6 days of receiving the package he never responded to me at all. I had to make posts on here and on Facebook to get the guy to respond. He never refunded as he said he would.
Did you mean that he had never provided you with an email address?
All of the communication at that time was through Facebook messenger. After he stopped responding I had to do some digging and found other ways of trying to reach him which included calling, texting, voicemail, email, forums etc. He didn’t respond until I made it public. I was trying to avoid that.
Out of curiosity, why was it returned?
I returned the heavily used gear back to him on the 10th as shown on the text log. The router was definitely not new, The z axis was missing 5-6 screws, there were scratches on a lot of parts, there was trash in the box, power cord had damage to it, etc. I posted photos to him and with Paypal for verification. The sad thing is he will most likely repackage it and sell it to someone else.
Ah, I see. Just curious because the email address and phone number are on a giant banner at the top of the Metal Maslow web page:
“some digging” …
Fwiw, the z-axis plates have 2 holes that aren’t used. And the three missing from the one side are supposed to be filled (along with the one in there holding it all together) with the longer screws that go through the sled.
Yeah all great info if that was ever supplied which it wasn’t. I also didn’t know he had a website since I found him on Facebook. That’s how I ultimately found the other ways of trying to reach him which he never responded to anyway. Thanks for pointing out the things that didn’t work.
