After that, Maslow kept complaining about there not being enough room to update
were you trying to upload the firmware.bin the same place as the index.html.gz?
that a mistake I’ve made more than once. you upload the index.html.gz file in
the files menu, and you upload the firmware.bin to the orange button to the
right of that.
after compressing the firmware.bin and the index.html.gz (someone said macs uncompress them)
they would have to be compressed the right way, it’s unlikly that your attempt
did so.
download the zip or tar file not the individual files if your browser insists on
uncompressing index.html.gz to index.html
(recognizing that the above things don’t matter until you can connect again)
since then I’m unable to connect to Maslow wifi or my home wifi
what happens when the machine powers on (red light, blue light, blinking?)
I have tried to connect via usb
three different cables
I downloaded python launcher and installed some esptool thingy (as I was getting a"esptool failed" error)
have you tried installing esptool via homebrew?
can you bring up a serial communication program and point it at the maslow?
getting a response for that would give us a chance of unjamming it without
esptool
does anyone know how to purchase another motherboard?
I think they are waiting for a new batch to arrive, but the maslow store is the
place to buy one.

Yep, i think that was the way it used to be done. I took a year break from trying to get it working

uncompressing index.html.gz to index.html, thanks for the tip
what happens when the machine powers on (red light, blue light, blinking?) it was a solid green light, then i restarted it and now it has a solid green and a steady red flashing light

so i installed homebrew (my second time using the terminal box) but i dont know how to point it at the maslow or what a “serial communication program” is
I would need baby steps to pull of this process, but these baby legs are keen for a walk, if your keen to break it down for me
and yep, i found the motherboard buy now box. Thanks.
and thanks for the previous tips,
hopefully (with this forums help) we can get my current board up and running again!!?
good call, so i tracked one down, I did the erase thing and the install button a few times. and it hasnt started the “maslow” wifi signal. and I was holding down the magic button.
computer complained a bit “it might need to be uncompressed” “files is from an un known distrubitor” I kept clicking. “run” and then I got to a terminal looking page that said
Erasing flash- *
Could Not Find C:\Windows\System32.bat
Installing filesystem
‘install-fs.bat’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I bumped a section close to the button with something metal
there was a little spark
and then one of the motors started running (i unpluged it from the board)
also (if I wasn’t having enough trouble already)
I have struggled with connecting over wifi
Probably because wifi is VERY busy in my area. however it seems there is a way of connecting via usb “fluidterm” I would love to be able to reliably connect to the maslow.
Thanks for the help so far
My baby legs are gonna keep walking, untill I’m able to activate that CNC
so this CD/change directory thing kinda had me a bit stumped; I tried moving it to the c: drive, and I also had it in the downloads drive… photo attached, I also ran the full-install file, I figured the .bat part of the file was hidden..? it did say its a "windows batch file"
You need to connect a usb cable from the computer to the USB C port on the Maslow. The USB port is on the opposite side to the power connection. Then run that program. You can try it without pressing the button, The button forces the control board into a receptive state, not always needed.
tried with four cables, two different ports on the computer… there was one time when the computer said something like “the USB connection with this device has failed in the past do you still want to connect” (that error hasn’t come back)
Which version of Windows is it? Have you anything you can plug into the USB port to make sure it’s working (like a mouse).
Maybe the comms ports aren’t enabled on your PC or the correct driver is not installed. For Windows 11 press start, Device Manager, Ports (COM & LPT) and confirm you have a COM port and it has a driver. How to enable COM ports on Windows 11 - Microsoft Q&A
