Which Router to Buy (Europe)

AEG and Ridgid are just different brands for the same hardware. buy a $100 makita or a $40 makita clone and take the money you save and buy a dedicated Z axis and router clamp. the Z axis hack on the AEG/Ridgid is the most complained about hardware on the entire machine. Best to avoid it to begin with

Ok tank you for the info about the Z axis on the AEG/Ridgid, I will
avoid these machines then.
I looked for the Makita, I found the RT0700CX3J which is expensive but
if it does the trick I will seriously consider it.
The not so obvious part is the “dedicated Z axis”. The “kit” include 4
bases and at least 2 of those would be “Z axis” compatible but I am
impress to see so few information on so expansive pieces of equipment.
I will try to get more information.

Have a look at the tested router list:
Choosing a Router or Spindle

I will do, thank you

you do not need any bases, buy a cbeam and router clamp, explained all in above link

ok thank you, I will look into it although from what I understand the
“package” I found seem to include the bases. But you are right there
must be a way not to buy the bases or I simply misunderstood the
package description.
For the moment the dealers I spoke to don’t often sell router and cannot
answer my questions

THE makita always comes with standard base, the plunge and tilt bases are optional and not needed

ok great, so unless thunder strike it will be a Makita then !

I am in France, should/can I buy the Maslow kit directly from Maslow
(http://maslowcommunitygarden.org/?market=true) or shoud I go through
Amazon ?

-Sincerly

In the Garden you have the choice of 3 kit suppliers, but I think not all ship international.

all kit sellers ship internationally, we just require buyers give us their address to do a shipping price quote first. Lost too much money shipping internationally only to find out that shipping fees were higher. Shipping to main land france is $115 from us because our kit weighs 36 lbs vs the original that was only 10 lbs. www.metalmaslow.com
$480 +115 = $595. might have to pay import fees as well.

always buy direct from the kit sellers website. Ebay/Etsy/Amazon charge 10 to 15% fees so doesnt’ help.

thsi one is good value for price
